Adjustable breast implants are available for breast augmentation surgery. The implants have a fill-tube and small injection port that are placed under the skin. After surgery, the port can be accessed with a small needle and saline can be introduced or removed from the breast implant. Once the desired size and shape of the breasts are achieved, the port and tubing are removed during a short office procedure.

Breast Implants For Complex Problems

The adjustability provided by these breast implants is great for women with complex breast augmentation issues, such as those with congenital abnormalities, breasts with differences in size and shape and in small breasts that may look more natural with gradual expansion of the skin.

These implants are also used in women that simply cannot completely decide on their breast implant size before surgery. With this approach the patient has great control in how she will look after surgery. However, because of Dr. Connall's experience and our thoughtful and detailed approach to implant sizing before and during surgery, few patients undergoing routine breast augmentation choose adjustable implants.

Adjustable implants are made in a number of styles and shapes. All adjustable implants are filled with saline exclusively. In the past, a combined silicone and saline adjustable implant was available, but this implant is no longer produced. We will review this implant option with you during your consultation.
